Memorial Service

A memorial service was held on Friday 9 May at the Telstraclear Events Centre in Manukau. Commencing at 10.30am this service provided not only the community of Manukau, but the entire nation with an opportunity to grieve, remember and celebrate the lives of those lost. It was estimated that well over 2500 people attended including many students from schools throughout the country. It is acknowledged here the wonderful support given to this service, by the Manukau City Council and in particular its Mayor Mr Len Brown. Following the service seven doves were released as precious and poignant symbols of the seven lives now in heaven.
